He’s pouting, just a bit but he’s still pouting. There are burns starting on his forehead and cheeks and his other hand has started peeling as well. Though only the hand that was burnt before is bleeding.

He sits down on the bed, still pouting, and stares at Antinomy. The Italian seems to be very upset.

"Sunscreen won’t help, if anything it’ll make it worse." He says, looking his lover straight in the eyes. "I can’t leave the house during the day, at all. Anything longer than ten minutes and I start burning. I don’t care anyway, I wanted to go for a walk."

He holds onto his bleeding hand, sneering at it. It seems he really has issues with the sun; physical and emotion ones.

Placido side-eyes the curtains.

"You’ll need to make sure the room’s completely dark you know. Anything less and up I go, like pinewood on a open flame."

Antinomy immediately got some towels. Wet and dry to clean the blood and then more ointments and wraps from his luggage. He carefully treats them, being extremely silent as he works. Only the occasional glance up to see Placido’s face to see if it gotten worse is when he makes a little grunt sound.

"I’ll close them when I’m done." Antinomy mumbles, still focused on the wounds. The hands are wrapped properly now. Antinomy now gathers some of the ointment for the barely there burns on Placido’s face.

Antinomy gently applies the ointment to Placido’s forehead before moving to his cheeks. ”You might as well tell me anything else that will cause you harm. Allergies and the like. I’ll be more careful and keep you from unnecessary pain.” His facial expression looks very concerned. Almost scared even.

"I’m fine Antinomy, it’s just a little cut, really!" He protests.

It’s a lie. His hand has started bleeding furiously. He’s used to it though, you can’t hide from the sun forever after all. And even indirect sunlight harms him, back in Italy the house is covered in blackout curtains to prevent him from scorching. Thankfully enough, moonlight isn’t an issue.

He secretly misses the sunlight very much, he can remember being able to walk outside as a child. He remembers playing in their large yard with the other children and he remembers when he was a teenager and he could still stand it with sunscreen on and he remembers actually talking walks outside for longer than a few minutes. But you know, in between that, he can’t remember anything at all.

"Look you don’t need to bring me inside unless my face starts peeling, okay?" He yells frantically, he actually doesn’t want to go back inside, he’s enjoying the feeling of the sun against his skin again.

"I am not letting you get to that point! You should take better care of yourself." Antinomy yells right back at him. He doesn’t care about any stares they might be getting. Even entering the hotel, he vaguely heard someone calling his name. Probably one of his college friends he hasn’t bothered letting know he’s alright. The most important thing now is to make sure his boyfriend doesn’t get worse.

Even when he gets to the elevator, he doesn’t bother putting Placido down. He maneuvers using the heel of Placido’s boots to press the button for his floor. Only when they get back to his room, he set Placido down so he can take out his room key. After opening the door, and seeing that room service already took care of cleaning up the room, he points in the room.

"Get in there and don’t fuss. I’m going to properly take care of your hands this time and check all your exposed skin for burns. If you know you have this kind of reaction to the sun, you really should have put on some sunscreen or something first." Antinomy actually keeps going on and on being such a nagging person but even Placido can see it’s because he genuinely cares.

The Italian takes the necklace out of Antinomy’s hand. He doesn’t snatch it, he doesn’t sneer. His face his completely blank. He clasps it around himself, he’s actually surprisingly flexible.

"I understand. I apologize for hurting your pride like that. I wouldn’t want anyone’s charity either." He says, not quite understanding but he’s trying. "Thanks… for the necklace. It looks pretty nice."

He’s very calm, calmer than he was before in their fights. By now his lover must be wondering what’s with the politeness. Last time they fought Placido was far nastier. Maybe there’s something wrong… but what could that be? Whatever it is it’s caused a severe shift in personality, it must be pretty bad then.

This apology took the anger out of him. This soon into the relationship and he can’t even stay mad at Placido for long. He doesn’t understand why he’s actually compromising. Maybe he did learn a little bit from his talk about compromising back at the hotel.

Thinking back now, he did yank Placido around pretty harshly and his hand was already injured. Antinomy gently picks up his hand and sees that it’s peeling worse than it was yesterday.

"Why didn’t you tell me you got worse?" Antinomy shouted, fully going into his mothering panic mode. "We’re going back right now!" Without wasting any more time and with strength he didn’t really know he had, he scoops Placido up in his arms and hurries back to the hotel so he can treat the wounds.

He looks… hurt by Antinomy’s sudden pulling away. Not just hurt but guilty, staring down at the ground and everything.

"I am, I’m sorry Antinomy. I didn’t mean to offend you. I’m not used to dealing with people without money, the only person that I knew without any…. I’m sorry. I’ll take care of you from now on, pay for anything you need. I didn’t think you were actually poor!" He’s actually apologizing, that’s the good part.

The bad part is that he now thinks his fellow is very, very poor and is trying to support him. It’s bound to offend, though it’s not intended to.

"Are you even really listening to me or to yourself?" Antinomy can’t believe what he just heard. Sure, he’s younger and doesn’t have that kind of funds to spoil him like he’s accustomed to but this is ridiculous. The fact that he immediately apologized did make his anger drop a few levels. Still, Placido really need to work on his people skills.

"If I was that poor, do you think I would be on vacation here? I don’t need you to take care of me. I just can’t afford to waste money on every little thing I want instead of things I really need." Antinomy feels like he’s wasting his breath trying to explain.

He roughly grabs Placido’s hand and drags him back towards the hotel where he initially picked up his sunglasses. Besides sunglasses at the little shop, there was other little trinkets and things made with seashells. He purchased a silver seashell necklace that doubles as a locket that can hold pictures on each side of the shell.

"Things like this, simple and with meaning should be what matters, not the amount of money you spend on something." Antinomy holds the necklace out, clearly still angry to properly put it on Placido but offering it to him either way.

"Yeah. Not like you can afford anything in here anyway, not even a pair of earrings." He smirks, unaware of significance of what he just did.

He latches onto Antinomy’s arm again, smiling. He’s getting kind of hot again, his hands have even started peeling again but he ignores it, hoping his lover won’t notice.

"Should I take you to the local Thrift Store? Sometimes they have some nice jewelry there." He says this with quite a bit of sincerity.

Ouch. That hurts. Sure he can’t afford a pair of earrings, but really why did he need to rub that in?

Antinomy was going to let that comment pass as Placido latched onto him again. When he smiles, he’s pretty cute after all. As they start walking, he remains quiet, enjoying the distant sounds of the waves crashing into the beach while walking with Placido. Of course Placido just had to open his mouth and make things worse.

The thrift shop comment was the last straw. Antinomy stops walking and yanks his arm free from Placido.

"Look! I get it. I don’t have any sort of amount of money as you do. I’m poor compared to you. But don’t insult me. I don’t just spend money just because I have it. I have to plan for my future. If you’re going to treat me like this, then we better just stop this relationship now." Antinomy stands his ground. Even with the dark shades hiding half his face, anyone near by can tell he’s clearly pissed off. More pissed off than he was in the shower when Placido insulted him.

Antinomy lowers his arms to just shoving his hands in his pockets and just standing around as if he’s bored to tears. He doesn’t bother looking at the jewelry that’s far more money than he probably would even make if he gets the job he wants. No point in bothering, right?

Soon enough, Placido bought something and is in front of Antinomy. Looking down, he sees the necklace in his hands.

"You’re really serious about roses.." Antinomy trailed off. He bought him a damn rose necklace. It’s as girly as all gets out. As much as he doesn’t want to wear it, after Placido payed far too much for it, he really doesn’t have a choice.

Antinomy leans down just enough so Placido can place it around him. The less he say something about the necklace, the better things would work out. Compromising is good, right?

His slender and long fingers easily unclasp the necklace.

"Nice, isn’t it?" He asks as he wraps it around his fellow’s neck, clasping it once more.

The one eyed man runs his fingertips over Antinomy’s neck, smiling the entire time. He seems to have some kind of thing for necks actually, just because he’s so enamoured with it.

"It looks good on you, better than I thought it would even. You’re very beautiful Antinomy. You should embrace that beauty more often." The Italian purrs in the most suave voice he can muster.

Antinomy shivered a bit from the trailing fingertips on his neck. He doesn’t recall them being so sensitive before meeting Placido. The sun glasses at least hide the fact that his eyelids closed to revel in the touch.

"I.. I’ll take your word for it." Antinomy mumbles, the compliments once again going to his head. Fighting the urge to be too touchy-feely in public, Antinomy straightens up and looks at Placido behind the dark lens.

"We’re done here, right?" He really wants out of the store now.

Antinomy tried to not go inside but Placido can be pretty powerful when he wants to. “Did you listen to me at all? I told you I won’t be able to afford expensive jewelry.” Antinomy hissed at Placido, making sure he was heard but low enough to not let any of the store’s employees hear him.

Once inside, he lets Placido go and folds his arms over his chest. The stereotypical upset child pose. He doesn’t even feel like he can afford to stand in this store let alone even considering buying something. Why didn’t he just talk Placido into going back to his hotel room and just cuddle or something all day?

"Yeah I heard, you are a peasant that can’t afford even the cheapest of jewelry. Now shut up, I’m going to buy you something nice. Everyone needs a good necklace, you included. We’ll go to a different store afterwards" He shuts Antinomy down, not having any of this pouting, he’s the only one in this relationship allowed to pout.

He takes a look around the store, turning his nose up at the ‘cheap’ jewelry. He’s clearly lived a life of privilege.

However, one particular necklace catches his eye. It’s very effeminate actually. It’s a pendant and though it isn’t very expensive it suits his rose just right he thinks. After all, it is designed to look like a rose. With a dark silver chain that is clearly designed to look like a thorned stem and a gold rose dangling from the from the center it just screams the American’s name, so he thinks. There’s even a dark blue gem in the center that matches his hair.

Placido buys it immediately, the price of it is quite high, more expensive than Antinomy could afford. The Italian still finds this cheap and sneers at the price, paying in cash. He brings the newly bought necklace over to Antinomy, a large grin on his face. He seems eager for his fellow to try it on.

Antinomy lowers his arms to just shoving his hands in his pockets and just standing around as if he’s bored to tears. He doesn’t bother looking at the jewelry that’s far more money than he probably would even make if he gets the job he wants. No point in bothering, right?

"Yeah, I guess. Where I live, there’s more trees and shade, you know? Here, it’s just wide open beach and palm trees here and there." Antinomy says, but let’s be real. He’s a nerd. He stays inside majority of the time doing his studies. That’s why he wanted to get a tan before going back home.

"Let’s get some sunglasses before looking at jewelry." He steers them towards an outdoor booth selling sunglasses. Grabbing the most affordable one that didn’t look horrible on his face, he pays for the shades and resumes letting Placido lead him further into the shopping area.

There’s a shop nearby, true to Placido’s tastes it looks very expensive. Even the displays look costly, all manner of fine jewelry is hanging on a crystal tree like object, all of it way beyond Antinomy’s price range.

"You know, my family’s in the jewel business. Those red stones you see in the center of our crosses? Well we make them ourselves. Apparently, that Frenchman is the inventor of the process." The Italian brags, it seems like he wants to show off his wealth to his lover.

He smirks, pleased at how rich he is and leads Antinomy into the jewelry store. True to the display, everything inside the place is far beyond what Antinomy can afford.

"Okay, okay! Whatever you want." Antinomy yelps the last word as he’s dragged out of the hotel.

He doesn’t really understand why he has to pick out jewelry. He doesn’t wear it himself, and now Placido wants to pick something for him to wear too? Is this some sort of thing couples do? He’s only a few hours into this relationship and just winging it.

"Ah.. I really should have brought my sunglasses with me. It’s pretty bright out here this morning." Antinomy mumbles, mostly to himself. He enjoys being out in the sun, but his eyes always are a bit too sensitive to it. He rarely goes outside in the day time without them on.

Using his free hand, he creates a small amount of shade for his eyes to relieve them from the burning sensations that caused them to immediately water up.

Placido’s a bit puzzled, after all he could see just fine and he was the one with the pigmentation disorder. He quickly determines that Antinomy must have some kind of problem with his eyes.

"Antinomy, are your eyes sensitive?" He asks, with a shockingly calm and gentle voice showing actual concern and empathy.

He understands the feeling all too well, he used to be able to walk in the sun freely but he gradually grew unable to stand it. After the accident that took his eyes and, temporarily, his legs, he couldn’t even sit by a window for longer than twenty minutes before he started to burn. The doctors said the accident caused some kind of relapse. Relapse of what exactly?

Antinomy couldn’t even come up with any argument when Placido took his arm. Despite all the quirks and rudeness, it still just feels right having him there with him.

"Anything else it can or cannot have? Besides, not like I really know anything about gemstones. You have to pick it out. Just don’t pick out something you don’t like." Antinomy frowns slightly. Either way, it all sounds too expensive for him, unless he gets a necklace made out of seashells.

Placido pouts. Antinomy probably has no idea how rude that comment was. It nearly hurt the one eyed man but he chalks it up to a cultural difference or merely the American’s inexperience in the ways of romance.

"No! You have to pick it out. And I’m going to pick out something for you in return. Get it?" He asks.

He doesn’t even wait for Antinomy to answer before dragging him out of the building.

"Okay, okay! Whatever you want." Antinomy yelps the last word as he’s dragged out of the hotel.
